This website tells you about our amenities and the numerous activities which take place in Stondon, about the businesses in Stondon and the history of our village. It is intended to be both useful and interesting.

If there was anything you wanted to know and could not find, if you have something you want to add or if you just want to tell us what you think about our website we would be really pleased to hear from you. Please contact us using the contact page.

BMX is GO !!!
Added on 22/01/2012

Everything's lined up now, and we hope to see the contractor who is building the BMX track start work next Monday (30th). We hope - weather permitting - that it will only take a couple of weeks to build the track. It will be open straight away, but the SRA is hoping to have a Grand Opening at Easter, when we hope to have a couple of BMX Champions showing us all how it's done !

Please note that as we are re-doing the path to the track at the same time, it will unfortunately mean shutting the park AND the path for the 2 weeks the work is going on. We hope this does not inconvenience you too much.

STONDON VILLAGE PLAN QUESTIONAIRE [SVPQ]
Added on 22/01/2012

YOUR VIEWS REALLY DO COUNT

Hopefully, most of you will have heard that Stondon is developing a Village Plan.
Over the weekends of 21st/22nd January and 28th/29th January 2012, every home in the village should receive a paper copy of the Stondon Village Plan Questionnaire [SVPQ].
We do hope every homeowner will be able to spare some time to complete the Stondon Village Plan questionnaire and tell us what is important to you.
The Village Plan will record the aspirations, as well as the facilities & services the community would like to see in the village both now and in the future.
The Village Plan will :
Help to shape a future that the community wants to see, not one it could have avoided.
Provide evidence of a proven need for funding of projects in the village.
Influence external bodies to work with the community & to help the village achieve its aspirations.
Help to bring groups and individuals in the community together towards a common goal.

The SVPQ will have been delivered to each home, in a clear plastic pocket.
Please fill in the questionnaire, put it back in the punched pocket and leave it on your doorstep ready for collection over the weekend of 18/19 February
Alternatively, you can tell the Village Plan Committee your views and thoughts on line by using Survey Monkey – please use this link and follow the self explanatory instructions:

Are you concerned about speeding traffic in our village?
Added on 01/11/2011

Stondon Parish Council in conjunction with Beds Police are looking for volunteers to join a new “SpeedWatch” group in the village. After training, volunteers will operate a speed gun in Stondon and will pass on details of speeding vehicles to the Police.
Volunteers can make as big or small a commitment as they like, and we hope it will be a good deterrent to the speeders through our village.
If you’d like to find out more about this scheme, please phone Kerry Dellar on 817218, or email us at info@stondon.net.

Queen’s Diamond Jubilee.
Added on 09/08/2011

As you will be aware many communities are having events to mark the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee. The Parish Council thought that this would be a good opportunity for a village celebration. If you have any suggestions or would like to be involved, please tell your local councillor or email kevin.smith@stondon-pc.gov.uk
